Summer Fun
The Okanagan Valley was initially a tourist destination because of its fabulous sandy beaches and summer sunshine. And then we became famous for our orchards, vineyards, golf and world-class lifestyle.
There are fabulous beach parks all along Okanagan Lake ...and we haven`t even mentioned the Ogopogo. As famous as the Loch Ness Monster, a $2 million prize is up for grabs for the person bringing proof of Ogopogo`s existence in Okanagan Lake.
The Okanagan hosts several world-class triathlon events, including Ironman Canada.
Penticton is also host to the annual Peach Festival, featuring the biggest parage in the region (end of July), the Elvis Festival (end of June), Square Dance Jamboree, three Okanagan Wine Festivals annually (Fall, Spring and Summer) and more.
